It’s the vacation season, and I took my family to see my mother-in-law. Just on one side of the property, by the window is a massive lavender garden.
I was curious about the lavender garden right outside her kitchen window. She showed me its purpose: once she opens the window, the beautiful scent drifts into the house, making the air feel as fresh and light as spring.

Ingredients you need

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Brew the Coffee

- To make coffee in a French Press, measure coarsely ground coffee (1 tablespoon per 4 ounces of water) and add it to the French Press. Boil water (about 200ยฐF), pour it over the coffee, and let it steep for about 4 minutes. Slowly press down the plunger to separate the grounds.
- After brewing, allow the coffee to cool for a few minutes or refrigerate it until chilled. This step prevents excessive ice melting when you pour the coffee over ice.
Step 2: Add the sugar-free lavender syrup

- Pour the cooled coffee into a glass filled with ice. Add the sugar-free lavender syrup and vanilla extract, then stir to combine.
For the Lavender Simple Syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender buds
Make the Lavender Syrup
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat
- Stir until sugar dissolves completely
- Remove from heat and add lavender buds
- Steep for 5 minutes (no longer)
- Strain through fine-mesh sieve, pressing gently on lavender
- Cool completely before using (syrup keeps for 2 weeks refrigerated)
Step 3: Add the Milk

- Pour in the almond milk (and additional vanilla extract, if desired) for a creamy finish.
Step 4: Optional Toppings

How to Store Leftovers

For the Lavender Simple Syrup Storage
